Easily distracted...

Whilst I've been unable to use the computer on a regular basis this past week, due to frustrating technical problems, I have managed to distract myself in other ways.

Come for a walk with me to see how easily I'm distracted... especially from daily tasks.

I love to take photos of birds.

Last year when I was visiting Busselton, I bought a book about birds with the intention of learning their identities, but decided that it was distracting me from just simply watching and enjoying them.
They don't seem to mind that I don't know their given names.

I especially like to try and capture birds with their wings outstretched.

I happily snap away at these beautiful creatures almost everyday and unfortunately rarely getting a pleasing shot.
Apart from the numerous failures I very much enjoy trying to photograph them.

I like this one.

I have got into the habit of not leaving home for a walk without the digital camera. Once upon a time I never thought that I would swap to digital, but it does allow me to be snap happy.

This is just a car that I thought would be fun for a joy ride.
I did say that I was easily distracted.

Across from the car were some dogs waiting patiently at a bus stop outside a popular seaside cafe. I'm assuming that they weren't waiting for a bus as public transport in this city isn't the best.
Now back to birds...

Recently when I've been walking along here I've spotted some beautiful birds that I have rarely seen.
I managed to photograph one of them.
It's a beautiful small sea hawk.
I look out for them now whenever I'm out walking, but rarely do I see them and when I do I never seem to be able to capture them with my camera.
When I grow up I'm going to get a zoom lens!
on another note...
The below photograph is a hilltop view of my suburb.

I've had a fun time framing these photos online over at Picnik which is another wonderful distraction.

If you drive down here and turn right you're at my place near the sea.

Thank you for joining me on this walkabout.
For those of you who will be celebrating Mothers Day I wish you a joyful one.
To everyone else have a wonderful fun loving distracted weekend.
See you soon
best wishes

Thanks for stopping by my beachsnaps blog...it's not permanent. I'm a migratory Monarch butterfly...south for the winter season...north for the summer...I'll pick up my beach blog by the 1st of October...yes, thankfully, beaches are still in my life...just not at the moment...

Oh, love those birds. Your corner of the world by the sea looks great. I love walking around too and photographing birds and houses. Would love to walk there some time.

I love to go to the central coast along our pacific ocean, Pismo, Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo area. Your photos reminded me of it.

Ribbon:
Happy Mother's Day to you, even though it's not technically your day of celebration. Still, on this day, I want to send hugs to all the wonderful women who demonstrate, so clearly for me, the virtues of being a Mum!

Love,
Holly

Oh, I am jealous of your palm trees! I also live by the sea, but it is the Baltic Sea, across the globe from you, and all looks different here! I`d love to join you and Lori and your walkabout, and then you can all come to my place and we`ll have apple cake at our sea bridge!
Lovely blog. Beautiful photos!

Loved joining you on the walk! I'm always interested in seeing what goes on where others live. Very interesting; doesn't look too much unlike my own Boston.

I love seeing how the other half lives! Your bird shots are great but you're right, takes ages to get a good one! I've taken my camera to work for the past few days and nothing to photograph! You wait, the day I leave it at home there'll be plenty!

Hi Robyn

thank you for the visit...doesn't it make a difference when you have a camera in your pocket or around your neck...I see so much more these days...it has made me very much more aware... I loved your birds and no I didn't hear a single one complain that you could not identify them...

Happy days

Oh Robyn - it is so nice to see a bit of home. I love Bussleton too. I've been there twice and I'd go back again and again... The birds just love pinching the chips right from unsuspecting fingers ;-)
Lovely post!

Hallelujah for distractions!

I LOVE that top photo of the two gulls walking. Looks like they're just strolling together, gossiping about something juicy. Hehehehe

And whoa to the hawk! Very cool. I remember going to the beach once in Japan, and these hawks would dive down onto the crowded beach to snatch a sandwich. They had NO fear and one even clipped a woman's head with its wing.

Thank you for the walkabout. Your neighborhood is delightful!
