A picture perfect day at Araluen

On a picture perfect Spring day we drove 35 kilometres south east of Perth to Araluen (an eastern states Aboriginal word meaning 'running waters', 'singing waters' or 'a place of lilies), to enjoy the 150 acres of Botanic parkland.
This is a magical place to be in Spring, where tulips and others meet the Australian bush.
I'm going to let the below numerous photos speak for themselves and I hope that you get a sense of the time that we spent in Araluen. I fell in love with this place and its perfume.

Mike rode back to Perth from here, as we had taken his bike in the car and Ruben and I stopped off at a roadside cafe for a traditional Devonshire tea.... well I had the tea and Ruben enjoyed an icecream sundae.
We were a little tired after our much loved day in the sun.

It's Saturday morning here in my corner of the globe and after I publish this post I'm off to the farmers market to buy my weekly fruit and vegetables. This week I'll be buying a little extra as I have my siblings and their adult children and partners joining us for a picnic in our backyard tomorrow. Here's hoping for a lovely weather day to compliment our intentions for a relaxing gathering.

Best wishes to all my readers for a weekend filled with fun and love

Oh Robyn! that was so much fun coming along with you, i love this place! It looks like we have many similar flowers, but I think the diversity there in Australia is just amazing.

Tell your partner he should come here for our triathlon (he is still doing these?), it is USAT sanctioned and all that, and its a beautiful course! and of course bring you and little son!!

enjoy your weekend my sweet friend,
love,
lori

I'll have to enjoy spring through your photos because it's going to be a long time until it returns in my neck of the woods. Beautiful images one and all. I can see why you fell in love with this area.

Hi Karen... thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your cooler weather as it will soon be very hot.

Annie...
Thank you. It is really beautiful and I think I visited Araluen at the perfect time of year. I'm not so sure that it would be very pleasant in summer. Inland of Perth gets very very hot.
Thank you also for your kind words about my headers. Much appreciated.

Hilary...
Thank you and I love Autumn. One of the better seasons here where I live.

Von...
Great to read that you have had a good rainfall. We had a very dry winter and Spring is heating up too fast.

KindredSpirit...
We could do with a little of your rain. I haven't been to London since I was a teenager. I like big cities... they're exciting and full of adventure.

Lori...
Yes it is a particular beautiful place and especially in Spring. I like to visit the bush in the cooler months to breathe and smell the sweet air.

Wouldn't it be magical if one day I was to visit your corner of the world. I'd love to hug you in person. Even if we never meet you are always my friend. xx

Hilary...
I am looking forward to what you will photograph during your new season. The photos that you share on your blog are absolutely magical. They are real story tellers.

Rosaria...
Thank you and big love to you x

Lola...
such a lovely surprise to see you here again and again.
You too have a wonderful weekend and we all know that your food writings are the best smells in blogworld. xx

What a wonderful place that looks to be. I'll have to ask my aunt (who lives in Perth) if she has been. I can almost smell the air and those tulips, so lovely. Like that heart shape on the tree trunk. I love seeing heart shapes in nature and always snap a photo of them as well.
