pondering paradise...

Have you been to paradise? Did you recognise it when you were there?
Are you living there now or are you looking forward to going there?

When I think of paradise as a location I create a fantasy in my mind that doesn’t genuinely appear like it’s possible, a place to live contentedly ever after.

I’m not feeling unhappy, I'm kind to myself.
I’m also not feeling that I’m living in paradise or am going to be moving there any time soon.
I’m also not sure where paradise is.

Recently I have been tumbling thoughts of where to go to from here, here being a city that some apparently call paradise.
Obviously paradise is a concept and not one that we all share at any one time.
I guess I need to be a little clearer about my concept of paradise to enable myself to go there.

I want more than I can see here available to me
in this suburban life along the sea.

I need to create a paradise for me.

Thanks for listening
Best wishes always

Meditation and I...

Meditation is a practice of quietening the mind that has been around longer than you and I.
Most of us have heard about it, some of us know a little about it and few of us do it.
I am one of the few as meditation and I became acquainted some years ago.

I meditate for an hour each day. I never thought that I would hear myself say that, as it is not something that I thought would become part of my daily life prior to giving it a go.
One of the reasons that I find it easy to take an hour out of 24 to devote to doing this is that I enjoy the benefits.
Anyone who meditates will agree that they benefit from their daily ritual, no matter what style of meditation they have chosen for themselves.

It is easy to devote time to something you enjoy and benefit from.

When I meditate all sorts of thoughts and images arise. It’s like spring cleaning my mind. Often during this time it gives me the opportunity to have a deeper understanding of myself; self awareness that assists me to improve the areas of my life that I want to change.
Meditation can create time for listening to your inner self. Meditation assists with healing. It also allows you to quieten your mind and open your heart.
Meditation offers a key to inner peace.

A calm mind helps you feel free.
A calm mind is open to possibilities.
A calm mind can see clearly.

I'm not always calm and clear, as I am not always any one thing, but since I have been meditating daily I am more able to calm and clear my mind quicker than ever before. I am more able to consciously make decisions about how I behave and feel.
I am better at letting go of emotions, thoughts and behaviours that don't serve me.

That's meditation and I...
I recommend it to those of you who are seeking change and looking to improve your general well being.
I use Holosync as my meditation tool.

best wishes always

holiday fun & new tricks

April has been a particularly fun month for me.

I've been enjoying glorious weather and holiday activities. We've had rain too, which is often celebrated when you live in Western Australia. It's a bit of a treat to see clouds after what felt like an endless summer.

If you were considering visiting Perth then I would say Autumn is a beautiful time to do so.

It's warm, but not hot..... sometimes a gentle breeze, but no wind..... perfect weather for all things holiday.

It's been warm enough to swim...

and cool enough to bake chocolate cakes...

and relaxed enough to learn new tricks.....

As you can see in the above photos I've been playing with photo editing tools.

I blog from what is considered to be a very old computer that can't cope with the download of a photo editing file.

The recently discovered good news for me and others with this dilema is that you don't need to download to join in the fun. I've just discovered a free online service, Picnik that easily operates on my old computer and offers a wide selection of creative tools.

You can teach an old dog new tricks.....

and that old dog is my computer, not me ;)

best wishes

early April...

You can find me stretching my legs along this length of road when I'm doing all things beach.
This month has been particularly inviting for doing just that.

Most Autumn April days have been gentle and blue.

I'm not alone in the fondness of this time of year.

All ages are out and about...

enjoying free fun.

Can you hear the excitement of these kids being splashed by the waves?

Wishing you a fun filled day....
PS... if you are a lover of nature and all things beautiful, go here ... it will make your heart sing ;)

Creativity & an Invitation for You

There is a project that was instigated in February of this year reflecting beauty and creativity that myself and others (the previous bakers dozen) are contributing to, that you may also like to be a part of.

For practical reasons this creative endeavour is best not revealed here on my blog, but by invitation only.
It could possibly involve up to a hundred bloggers.
To manage this project in a practical manner I would like to invite, in conjunction with the others involved, a bakers dozen, in no particular order, to email me so I can forward you information regarding this creative pursuit.

I hope this invitation is of interest to you and if so

I look forward to receiving your email.

Thank you

best wishes

I used to Be....

I used to be...
a baby
a child
a little bit wild
I used to be...
afraid
cheeky
single
a bride
separated
childless
employed
and
I used to be
more organised...

I'm in the middle of composing a promised invitation for you, another bakers dozen, but I have been distracting myself with all the things to do in this glorious Autumn weather, along with birthday parties and another triathlon (no not me, my much loved partner).
Click invitation for a heads up on what's to come.

best wishes always

ps... what did you used to be ?

Holidays...

It's Autumn school holidays here in my corner of the world.
It's a particulary lovely time of year for being outdoors.

We've been enjoying hours on end at the beach and

therefore little to no time on the computer.

Before this week comes to an end
I'll be back to post an invitation for you to join myself and others
in a creative endeavour.
See you then.
Off out to Kings Park now.
catch you later

God?

Yes you may have seen this post before as I posted it almost 12 months ago for Six Word Saturday.
My intention with this is to provoke awareness of our world at large beyond the boundaries of Christianity. There are many more Gods worshiped beyond the images here.
We believe what we believe because of what we have learned to be true. We do not arrive in this world with a bag of truth. So therefore what really is truth. Truth changes shape with knowledge. Knowledge is never ending.
Who holds the bag of truth?
